Vaginal Literacy
Learning to Listen to Your Body
An introduction to vaginal literacy.
So many of us were never given the words for our own bodies, let alone shown how to listen to them. We notice something has changed and we don’t know whether it matters. We sit in front of a GP and can’t find the language. Sometimes we’ve stopped noticing at all.
It doesn’t have to stay that way. You cannot care for what you do not know, and knowing is something you can learn.
Shame Lives In Silence.
This Is Where We Begin To Speak.
From silence to sovereignty.
Think back to what you were told about your body growing up. Maybe it was the wrong words, or no words at all. Maybe you learned that this part of you was something to hide, tidy away or put up with.
That silence doesn’t disappear when we grow up. It follows us into every appointment where we struggle to explain what we’re feeling.
When women know their normal, they are better equipped to recognise change, ask informed questions and advocate for themselves. This masterclass is part of my Know Your Normal movement.
In this free hour together, I’ll introduce the idea at the heart of my work: vaginal literacy, which is knowing your pelvic space, so you can begin to understand what it is telling you.
In This Free Masterclass You Will Learn:
What vaginal literacy is, and why knowing your pelvic space helps you understand what your body is communicating.
Why knowing your normal matters, and how to learn yours: assessing your pelvic floor recruitment pattern, and noticing signs such as numbness, pain, congestion or prolapse, and knowing when it’s worth getting checked.
What your body may be telling you when you notice numbness, heaviness or tension, or pain, and when a change is worth a conversation with your GP or a pelvic health physiotherapist.
The vaginal reflex map, and how to use it. In traditional reflexology, points in the vagina are linked to organs through energetic meridians. You’ll see the map I use and how it gives you a framework for noticing and describing what you feel.
A way of making sense of what you feel. Numbness, tension or pain can show up differently for each woman, and for some they’re linked to how safe, supported or stressed they feel. You’ll learn how to notice your own patterns. This is a framework for self-awareness, not a diagnosis.
How to start finding the words, so you can talk about your body clearly, accurately and without shame, including to a healthcare professional.

Julie Ann White MA BA (Hons) is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur and an Integrative Women’s Health Practitioner. She is based in Norfolk and works with women across the UK. Her mission is to guide women home to their bodies, their wisdom and their power.
Julie’s work grew out of her own healing journey, so her trauma-informed approach isn’t a marketing point. It’s how she believes this work must be done.
Julie created Vaginal Literacy, a structured, trauma-informed curriculum built on three pillars: Know Your Normal. Go Beneath the Symptom. Reclaim Your Body. Her teaching is clear, accurate and shame-free, and it rests on one simple idea: “I teach women to read their own bodies and get to know their vaginas, so they know what’s normal for them.”
This Is For Women Who:
- …were never really taught about their own bodies, and are ready to learn now.
- …want to know what’s normal for them, so they can spot a change and know when to get it checked.
- …have a history of pelvic pain, surgery, birth trauma or abuse, or carry shame about their bodies, and want to go at their own pace.
- …have felt numb, disconnected or unsure about what they’re feeling.
- …have struggled to find the words at a GP or pelvic health appointment.
- …have been on a gynaecology waiting list for a long time, and want practical things they can do for themselves, alongside their care, while they wait to be seen.
- …are curious, and want a judgement-free place to start.
For women aged 18 and over.
“The body has always held the map. My work supports women in learning how to read it.”Julie Ann White
Want To Go Deeper?
This masterclass is an introduction to my Vaginal Literacy curriculum: four live online sessions across 30 days, held in a small, trauma-informed group.
Over the programme you’ll get to know your pelvic space in detail, build 30 days of your own body data with a simple daily log, develop your internal awareness through guided practices, and share in optional circles where naming things together reduces shame. You’ll leave with your own Personal Body Signal Map (My Normal, My Changes, When I Seek Help) and a bank of questions to take to your next healthcare appointment. My aim isn’t to make you depend on me, but to help you trust yourself.
Every woman has a confidential one-to-one call with me before the programme begins, and cameras are always optional. I’ll share more about the curriculum at the end of the masterclass.
